Become a WACOPS MemberThank you for your interest in joining WACOPS. Our membership is made up of law enforcement organizations from across the state and the more agencies involved, the stronger voice we have; we invite yours to become a member of WACOPS. There are four groups that form the WACOPS membership including fully-commissioned organizations, non-commissioned organizations, retired individuals, and honorary individuals. Membership TypesRegular Member OrganizationRegular membership shall be granted to organizations representing active, fully commissioned, general authority peace officers in Washington State who have arrest powers and whose primary duties include the enforcement of Washington State Criminal codes and traffic laws. Regular membership by any organization shall be contingent upon participation of not less than 100% of dues paying commissioned personnel of the Member organization. Associate Member OrganizationAssociate memberships may be granted to organizations that do not meet all of the above listed requirements for membership. Each Associate membership will be discussed and approved or disapproved by a vote of the WACOPS membership. Associate membership to WACOPS by any organization shall be contingent upon participation of not less than 100% of dues paying personnel of that Associate member organization. Retired MemberMany WACOPS members choose to be active advocates for law enforcement following retirement, our Retired Membership allows for former peace officers to stay involved, receive up to date information through our newsletters, and participate in our general membership meetings. The Retired Membership level shall be granted to any former officers who retired in good standing from a current WACOPS member organization. Honorary MemberHonorary membership may be granted to individuals who do not meet the above listed criteria. Honorary membership will be discussed and approved or disapproved by a vote of the Executive Board. |
